Welcome!

Wheelchairs for Iraqi Kids helps needy disabled children of Iraq by providing high quality
pediatric wheelchairs, each sponsored by individual and corporate donors.  Sponsors
receive a picture of the disabled children as they are placed in their wheelchair for the
first time!  This is a unique opportunity, as families around the world have the opportunity
to directly impact the life of an Iraqi family with a very real need in a big way.

This incredible gift literally changes the life of the child as well as the family.
Disabled children discover a new level of mobility not previously experienced.
The family no longer carries the heavy child from place to place.
And the heart of the community is touched, resulting in long-lasting friendships!

Please consider donating to this worthwhile project to help disabled kids receive a
precious valuable gift which will impact their lives in a profound manner.

More Wheelchairs on the Way!

Soon, we should receive another shipment of wheelchairs for three distribution
partners.  Over 140 Children's wheelchairs plus 10 PET mobility units (for adults) will be
distributed to disabled Iraqi children (and adults) who have waited all their lives for the
opportunity to be mobile, and not depend on others to get them around.  I will be
attending these events, and will share pictures as soon as they are available over the
next few weeks and months.  Keep checking back!

Now that I'm working full time on the WFIK project, I have operating expenses not
covered which were paid by my company as a contractor.
I do not wish to pay the expenses out of wheelchair donation funds, so if any companies
or individuals could help out with monthly operating expenses, please contact me ASAP
at
Brad@WheelchairsForIraqiKids.com.  We can work out some way you will receive
recognition (if desired) for your contributions.

Wheelchairs for Iraqi Kids with CG Award Coin

Commanding General David Petraeus viewed CNN's report and had this to say:

"Brad, I just saw the CNN story on your program and wanted to thank you for what you're
doing. Your initiative has proven to be a wonderful idea, and you clearly have been doing
a superb job turning that idea into reality. Needless to say, our troopers enjoy distributing
the wheelchairs very much, and the goodwill they generate has been significant.  Well
done/thanks very much -- GEN David Petraeus, CG, MNF-I"

Meet Ben, a hero for disabled Iraqi children!

A young man named Ben watched the CNN report on this project, and decided he would
personally get involved to make a difference in the lives of the children I am trying to
help.  With help from Helen, his Mom, he set up to play his guitar on the streets of San
Francisco and played his guitar for two hours, raising an incredible $2269.46!
Thanks to Ben, many children who have never had a wheelchair will now know the
freedom and mobility which a high quality pediatric wheelchair can bring.  Ben - YOU ARE
THEIR HERO!  And MY HERO!

Ben has been a real trooper, raising donations many weekends since March - even while
he was sick.  He's encountered many generous people who have encouraged him and
donated money right into his guitar case to support the WFIK project with his Mom
standing by.  However, he's also endured the ridicule of a few
adults and  classmates for
standing up for the
disabled children of Iraq and doing the right thing.  It's been a great
maturing experience for him, and he's a better guy for it!

Ben set up his own website and blog (I Play for Peace.net).  As of June 25 '08, Ben has
raised
$11,718.99, and every penny counts!  Because of Ben's efforts, the lives of Thirty
Nine
Iraqi children and their families will be changed in a big way.
